Our lovely board members help keep Kaurilands awesome. They are a mixture of parents and staff, elected by our community as their representatives. They help with decision making and governance of our school. Board Elections took place in September 2022 for the 3 year cycle 2022-2025.
On behalf of the community, the School Board is responsible for the governance of our school. The Board sets the school’s strategic direction and is accountable for the school’s performance. Our primary focus is ensuring that our children are continuously improving and achieving to the best of their abilities.
The Kauriland's Strategic Plan outlines the 3 year strategic plan that guides our thinking. Monitoring progress towards the goals outlined in the plan is a key focus for the board as is asking the hard questions to ensure we make the right strategic decisions for our community, our staff and our children.
Our Principal, Jo Augustine, is the Board’s Chief Executive and is responsible for the management of the school. The Board’s role is to support the Principal as they work within the school’s policies to lead the strategic direction. If you wish to view our school policies please email [email protected].
The School Board meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm, with the exception of the January 2024 Board meeting which will took place at 10.00am on Friday 26th January.
Tēnā koutou katoa. I am of Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Ruanui and Ngāruahine descent. I have been on the Board since 2021 and was elected the Presiding Member in January 2024. We have three children and our whānau has been part of the school community since our daughter started school as a new entrant in 2016. She is now in Year 8 and has moved on in her schooling while our two sons are currently at Kaurilands in years 3 and 5 respectively. I am a senior government lawyer working in public and environmental law. Our whānau are enthusiastic members of the school and wider Kaurilands and Titirangi communities and I consider it a privilege to serve the community in my role on the Board.
Kia ora, I’m an Investment Strategist and was elected to the Board in 2022. All three of our children have attended Kaurilands School. Although our son has recently moved on to intermediate, we still have two daughters enrolled, one in Year 5 and our youngest in Year 3. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to support the staff, students and wider school community in this role.
Ni sa bula, kia ora tātou. Along with my husband Neil, I have been part of the Kaurilands School community since 2015 when our son Henry started. Our daughter Charlotte graduated from Kaurilands in 2023 and our youngest Hugo has just started in Year 2. I am a local Property Valuer and active within the local business community. I have been on the Board since 2022 and have enjoyed experiencing the school from this different perspective. It has been great to see how the school operates from a Governance level and through this I feel grateful to the school for the education and opportunities my children have had so far. I also feel privileged to be part of a team which represents the parents of our school on the Board of Trustees. I look forward to continuing to support the school and the wider community in this role. Vinaka vaka levu.
Kia ora, I'm Megan and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve our amazing Kaurilands School community as a new member of the School Board. I run my own business as a Virtual Assistant, offering admin and copywriting support to some incredible local businesses, and talented creatives. For over 15 years I worked for local Members of Parliament, and I look forward to using the knowledge and experience I gained there to support our school community. My husband Cliff and I are both Westie raised and wouldn't dream of raising our two kids anywhere else! Nathan is now 11 years old and graduated from Kaurilands in 2023, and Hadley is 6 years old and now in Year 2. Both of them have thrived at Kaurilands, and I'm grateful to be able to give back to the best school in the West as a parent representative on the Board.
Kia ora te whanau. I have been a part of Kaurilands School since 2021 and have recently joined the board in April 2024. My wife Donna and I have three girls the eldest is in Year 4. I own and operate a workforce management business that specialises in the recruitment, training, and management of staff (various industries) throughout the wider Auckland region. I look forward to supporting the aspirations of our staff, students, parents and wider community.
