Our school library is a safe and welcoming special place at the heart of our school. Our students are supported in developing their love of books and reading for pleasure. It's a place where they can respond to their curiosity and wonderings about the world while cultivating research and inquiry skills.
Our library supports our school’s learning strategy through weekly class library visits and storytime, lunchtime activities and an active library calendar of events. Each class is timetabled to visit the library once a week, but children may change their books as often as they wish during the week.
We are open from 8.30am to 3.30pm each day, at lunchtime from 1pm to 1.35pm and during Tuesday morning tea for senior book club.
We have an amazing collection including:

- Fiction (including zoomers and dyslexic friendly) organised by genre

- Te Ao Maori Collection

Each student has a unique library number which they can use to access our library catalogue in either the library, classroom or from home. This gives students access to their own dashboard where they can search our library catalogue, reserve books, review books, check their current and past loans, and access ebooks and audiobooks. Reading is a superpower that can transform lives. Reading builds empathy, expands minds and fuels creativity. Reading out loud to the children in your life could be your superpower. It has proven educational, wellbeing and developmental benefits.

Kaurilands Eplatform
Reading should be accessible, engaging and inclusive to all students. Our students have access to ebooks and audiobooks all day every day, with each student having their own login. The digital library supports reading and literacy and helps foster a lifelong love of reading.

We recommend the following student-friendly websites for research. These web links help with research and finding information for projects, homework and general interest. (To access Britannica School, National Geographic Kids and Elementary at home contact the library for username and password).
