Our lovely board members help keep Kaurilands awesome. They are a mixture of parents and staff, elected by our community as their representatives. They help with decision making and governance of our school. Board Elections will take place in June 2022 for the next 3 year cycle 2022-2025.
On behalf of the community, the School Board is responsible for the governance of our school. The Board sets the school’s strategic direction and is accountable for the school’s performance. Our primary focus is ensuring that our children are continuously improving and achieving to the best of their abilities.
The Kauriland's Strategic Plan outlines the 3 year strategic plan that guides our thinking. Monitoring progress towards the goals outlined in the plan is a key focus for the board as is asking the hard questions to ensure we make the right strategic decisions for our community, our staff and our children.
Our Principal, Jo Augustine, is the Board’s Chief Executive and is responsible for the management of the school. The Board’s role is to support the principal as they work within the school’s policies to lead the strategic direction. If you wish to view our school policies please email [email protected]
The School Board meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm.
2020 Board Members
Tēnā koutou katoa. I am of Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Ruanui and Ngāruahine descent. I have three children: a daughter in year 5, a son in year 2 and my younger son is about to start school as a new entrant. I am a lawyer and have lived in Titirangi for 15 years. Our whānau are enthusiastic members of the school and wider Kaurilands and Titirangi communities, and I look forward to assisting the school in my role on the Board.
My name is Sarah. I am originally from Dunedin but have called Titirangi home for nearly 20 years. My son Aidan is in Year 5 and my daughter Lauren is now in Year 9. I am Head of Learning and Assessment Support at Green Bay High School and am very proud to part of the Kaurilands School community.
"I have a son, Ben, in year 6 and a daughter, Emma, in year 4. I’m a partner in a national law firm and in my spare time I enjoy running and travel. I’ve been on the board since 2016 and chair since June 2019. I enjoy being on the board and feel privileged to play a part in the Kaurilands School community. ."
My son Leo is in year 5 and loves the school. I'm an economist by training and chair the board finance committee. Kaurilands is a great school and it's an honour to work with such a dedicated and capable team and the wider community.
Kia ora koutou. I have a son Thomas in Year 6 and a daughter Anna in Year 4, and have been on the school board since 2019. I'm a clinical psychologist and have a strong interest in continuing to support the positive mental wellbeing of our teachers, children and their families in all the decisions we make as a board."
Kia Ora, I joined the board in 2019. I am married to Daniel and we have a daughter in Year 5 and a son in Year 3. I work part time at Habitat for Humanity Northern. I'm privileged to have time to support the wonderful teachers and kids at Kaurilands by helping in the classroom and when I'm not doing anything else, I like to read, pray and go swimming. I'm happy to serve our school community and enjoy my involvement with the Board.
