Having whānau involved in the learning process is hugely important to us. That's why we use Seesaw. It's an easy way for kids to share and keep a record of what they are learning. At Kaurilands we use Seeaw to give whānau a window into the classroom and a way to connect with your child's learning.
1) Learning Journals or Individual Portfolios.
Each student has their own Seesaw learning journal. They will keep this account for the whole of their time at Kaurilands. Posts in Seesaw will vary depending on student's age and classroom, but the purpose remains the same across the school; to allow students to share and keep a record of their learning. As a parent or family member you can receive notifications when your child makes a post to their journal, though the Seesaw parent app, free to download on any platform. If you don't have access to your child's portfolio contact your child's teacher. Grandparents, aunts and uncles are also encouraged to join!

2) Class Blogs
The class blogs are managed by the classroom teachers and give families and the wider community a glimpse of class culture; things students are celebrating or experiencing together. The blogs cannot be accessed through the Seesaw app. They run as a separate website. You can access them here, on our school website or by bookmarking your child's class blog on your personal device.
